Monica represents individuals on a wide range of employment matters, including sexual harassment, workplace discrimination, unequal pay, whistleblower, and retaliation claims. She focuses on both individual and class/collective actions involving discrimination and wage-and-hour claims. Monica represents employees in federal court, federal and state administrative agencies, mediations, and arbitrations. Monica was recently chosen as a 2018 New York Metro Rising Star in Employment Law.
Monica received her Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law in 2014 where she received the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Admiralty Law and Family Law Practice. She also received an award for Outstanding Achievement in Pro Bono Service by NY Unified Court System. Monica was the treasurer of the Labor Relations and Employment Law Society, and the treasurer of the Evening Students Association. While in law school, Monica served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Elaine Jackson Stack, a legal intern for the NY State Access to Justice Program, and in 2013, became a legal intern at Valli, Kane & Vagnini, LLP.
Prior to attending law school, Monica received a dual B.A. in Magazine Journalism and Political Science from Syracuse University. Monica worked in the publishing field for more than a decade where she was most recently the editor of a policy journal devoted to the research and analysis of contemporary issues affecting international migration.
