After 33 years successfully representing Fortune 500 corporate defendants in high-stakes products liability and tort litigation in Texas and other states, Bill Mennucci decided that he wanted to dramatically shift his legal career to an area that closely aligned with his deep-seated belief in civil rights, fairness, equity and justice. This led Bill to join Valli Kane and Vagnini in 2026, where he now applies his extensive litigation experience and skill to the representation of individuals in employment and civil rights litigation.

Bill’s past experience has been divided more or less equally between three areas: (1) handling the workup of a case as attorney-in-charge, (2) serving as lead trial appellate counsel at trial, and (3) representing litigants in civil appeals. Because of his “cradle to grave” litigation experience, Bill’s greatest strength is his ability to blend case workup, trial and appellate considerations into a comprehensive, highly strategic litigation plan that maximizes the chances of a successful outcome.

In particular, Bill’s insight into how an entire case comes together in the crucible of trial increases his effectiveness in handling all phases of litigation. Bill has served as lead trial appellate counsel in over 30 wrongful death and serious personal injury trials, spanning over 250 trial days in court.

In addition, Bill is Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has briefed and argued over 25 civil appeals. Nearly all of them produced wins and nearly all of them led to published opinions. Bill’s appellate experience includes arguing and winning appeals in the Texas Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and most of the 15 intermediate Texas courts of appeals.

In his free time, Bill enjoys backcountry hiking, scuba diving, mountain biking, foreign travel, and the Austin live music scene.
